Each variety of electrolyte treatment gel has been designed to work specifically with a particular area of the body. Every electrolyte gel has been programmed into the Powerskin and Algonix software to ensure accurate calibration of the machine's program during treatment.

The electrolytes act as an interface between the body and the treatment probe, both improving the signal transfer and preventing the probe from dragging on the skin. Electrolytes also open the ion channels to increase the energy supply to the cells and contain active substances that are absorbed through the pores by iontophoresis.

Use of the correct electrolyte is critical in order to avoid alloyed stimulation or incorrect frequency communication.
